Bounty Box
We started up the Winter Bounty Box this week and are looking forward to another season of fresh, local fruits and veggies. This week was butter lettuce, turnips, green beans, broccoli, cilantro, chestnuts, and a pie pumpkin. Farmers were also clearing out the last of their summer crops–tomatoes, bell peppers, and a bag of mixed hot peppers about the size of a basketball. We’re sharing it with friends this time around and we’ll see how that works. It really is a lot of food—especially since we eat out an awful lot.
