Kitchen After

Well, kind of after.

Redoing the kitchen is on our long term to-do list so we’re leaving it alone for the moment, not even a coat of paint. We did arrange the dining area so it was a little cozier for just the two of us and we hung my father’s stained glass right over the table. That’s not the only bit of family history in the room. We also managed to find room for both the hoosier my parents refinished and the drop leaf table that used belonged to Jonathan’s grandmother. Jonathan even rewired the phone lines for my old black phone (he’s got a vintage red rotary phone in our bedroom) but to be honest, I couldn’t even tell you our number.

Eventually, we see a kitchen with wood floors, white cabinets, subway tile backsplashes, and an apron front farmhouse sink. Until then though, we’ve got working appliances, a shelf for my cookbooks, and a wine rack—so I’m thinking we’re way ahead of the game.
