Office After Pt. 1

The horrible pink paint from our living room also covered the walls of our office. Since the room was small and mainly windows and doors, we felt we could wait a bit to repaint until we found the right color. Before we could do that though, we had to find the best way for the two of us to share the office.

We decided a shelf-type desk along the wall under the windows would work the best—something narrow to preserve floor space but long enough to give us plenty of room to work. Jonathan thought that old doors would be just the right size. We carried a couple of old doors out of the garage of a friend who lives just down the street and Jonathan went to work, adding legs and ordering a sheet of glass for the top that the guys from the glass shop were just able to maneuver into our back room.

We took these photos the day we put together the desk—even before the glass top was delivered—and believe me, it hasn’t been this neat since.
