Hi Carrie,
We are searching for a paint color for our house and stumbled across Bunglehouse Gray which is how I found your site. I have painted a large test patch on the back of our house and I see very strong greens and no gray. Do you see this in person on your house or could it be because where I painted is against the old color which is a cream. I would really appreciate your help as this is a big, expensive decision. Thanks so much!

  Hi Carmen – I understand! Painting a house is a lot of work and so choosing the right color is key. Although the color changes based on the light and the contrasting trim, it reads as a light, mossy green. I’ve had similar colors in the past that ended up better suited for an army base and this avoids that. You can see it best on this post http://comobungalow.com/porch-sitting/. Our trim is a buttery off-white, not a white-white so that impacts the color as well. If you are looking for a more slate gray–that popular color that looks so well with a bright yellow door–this is not the color you want. You might check out Sherwin Williams Morris House Gray–we used that in a bedroom and it’s a light gray without a green tint. I hope that helps!

    I’m ok with the green but not army green! I was hoping it changed colors depending on the light and also looked gray but from my test patch it only appears green. We also would be trimming in a buttery/cream color to match our windows. Thank you for replying! 😊

  Thanks! Here’s the overview of all our exterior paint colors: https://comobungalow.com/historic-paint-colors-pt-2/. We used Sherwin Williams historic colors as a guide. The Bunglehouse Gray is lovely but it looks different on every house based on sun and shade levels so we highly recommending testing it out.
